Mission
The Huron Center for Conscious Futures advances research, innovation, and cultural inquiry at the intersection of mind, technology, sustainability, and society. Through affiliated labs, we explore psychedelics, artificial intelligence, sustainable materials, health and longevity, philosophy, cultural critique, and strategy—generating knowledge, prototypes, and practices that shape more conscious futures.
Vision
We envision futures that are intentional, integrative, and resilient—where scientific discovery, technological development, cultural creativity, and human well-being reinforce one another. The Center serves as a platform for transdisciplinary research, public dialogue, and experimental practice, uniting serious inquiry with creative expression to expand the possibilities of how we live, think, and flourish.

Story
Founded near the shores of Lake Huron, the Center is rooted in a geography that represents both continuity and transformation. Just as the Great Lakes connect diverse landscapes, the Center connects diverse fields of inquiry. From psychedelic science to AI, from sustainable materials to satire, we bring together seemingly disparate pursuits under a shared commitment: building futures that are more conscious, more humane, and more alive.
Structure
The Center functions as a parent body with affiliated Labs, each devoted to a specific domain of inquiry and practice. Labs operate semi-autonomously but remain connected through the Center’s integrative mission. This structure allows for both disciplinary rigor and cross-pollination, creating a fertile environment for innovation and critique.

Leadership
The Center is directed by Eric Obscherning, a strategist, researcher, and creator working across health, life sciences, technology, sustainability, and culture. He convenes collaborators from academia, industry, and the arts as Affiliates, Fellows, and Advisors, ensuring that the Center remains both credible and experimental, rigorous and imaginative.
